About The Rock College
The Rock College was established by Crag Porteils and Dave Wilkins who are world renowned professionals in the music industry, both in Australia and abroad producing hit after hit. They are currently active in the music business and not just lecturers. Your facilitators know the industry, have extensive contacts and have been involved with many multi million selling albums.
The Rock College course is available Australia wide, at the foundation and advanced level or private coaching in a real studio. This is a great way to find out where you want to go with your music career without investing the big bucks. In the 2 days we will be completely recording, producing and mixing a full band ready to release to radio. That’s why we call it the “real world” course.
Learning methods
The program is designed to be practical and relevant to the contemporary music industry. Participants complete a pre-workshop survey to define their specific needs. All concepts are demonstrated in practical ‘hands-on methodology. Participants are encouraged to discuss their ideas and examples of their own situations and how they can apply the learning immediately. The facilitator provides good (and bad) examples of production experiences and the tools and techniques from their own work and other organisations for comparison. The course is run over a consecutive two day period consisting of 4 x 2 hour sessions per day.
The Rock College will be adding new and exciting courses in the near future so watch this space.
